Fantastic opportunity for a Spacecraft Operation Engineer to join an exciting and rapidly expanding company developing innovative and scalable solutions with a mission to secure long-term spaceflight safety and orbital sustainability for the benefit of future generations.

As Spacecraft Operation Engineer you will have to:

  • Develop, maintain and validate nominal and contingency Flight Control Procedures (automated & manual)
  • Contribute to the Mission Operations Planning and Scheduling
  • Execute routine and critical real-time operations on console
  • Provide operations expertise at system, subsystem and instrument level
  • Participate in shift and on-call rotations, such that safe and efficient operations are ensured on a 24/7 basis
  • Interface with other Operations teams such as MCS, Mission Planning and FDS
  • Develop, validate, maintain specific operations tools/scripts as required

To be considered for the Spacecraft Operation Engineer you will need to have:

  • University degree in a related engineering discipline
  • Several years of Spacecraft Operations experience with demonstrable responsibility for multiple subsystems
  • Comprehensive Spacecraft subsystems knowledge, in particular AOCS/GNC or OBDH;
  • Experience conducting critical real-time operations as part of a Flight Control Team e.g. during the LEOP environment;
  • Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, on-board software management, configuration management and simulator facilities
  • Experience of Spacecraft Operations on Low Earth Orbit (LEO), 3-axis stabilised spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, commissioning or routine operations phases
  • Experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting, including anomaly analysis and resolution in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes
  • The ability to conduct stressful operations in a calm, orderly and disciplined manner

Desired Skills

  • Experience working as an SOE in a mission involving formation-flying or close-proximity operations;
  • Familiarity with the spacecraft mission control system SCOS-2000;
  • Familiarity with the MOIS operations preparation tools (MOIS Automation and manual);
